CoQ10's Q-SYMBIO trial is the strongest human outcome data either compound has — a real reduction in cardiovascular mortality in heart-failure patients. PQQ's case is mechanistic: it genuinely stimulates mitochondrial biogenesis in cell and animal models, and the human trials that exist are small and short, testing cognition and inflammation markers rather than hard outcomes. They're frequently sold together on the theory that CoQ10 supports existing mitochondria while PQQ helps make new ones — a plausible combination story that has never itself been tested.
