Our verdict
Neither is an established senolytic in people. Fisetin was the most potent senolytic of the flavonoids screened and extended both median and maximum lifespan in old mice, but there is no published human trial showing a senolytic or longevity benefit; the studies designed to test it are still ongoing, and that use is explicitly investigational. Quercetin's senolytic fame comes from the dasatinib plus quercetin combination tested in open-label pilots of 9 to 14 people, and dasatinib is a prescription chemotherapy drug; on its own, quercetin's one well-supported human benefit is a modest blood-pressure reduction of about 3.0 mmHg systolic and 2.6 mmHg diastolic, strongest at 500 mg/day or more. The two have not been compared directly.
Fisetin fits if
Someone following the senolytic hypothesis early who is honest that they are acting on animal data while the human trials run.
Quercetin fits if
Someone who wants a low-risk dietary flavonoid with one genuinely supported human benefit, taken for modest blood-pressure support rather than for clearing senescent cells.
