ElixaMD review

Partners named, prices unresolved
Our verdict
ElixaMD discloses more of its care network than some online programs, but a dependable cost comparison requires a written compounded-plan quote or a separately itemized branded membership and medication price.
Main trade-offs
- Numeric compounded first-month and refill costs unresolved
- Branded membership billing period not established

Compounded medicines are not FDA-approved. A licensed clinician must assess whether treatment is appropriate; availability does not establish safety or benefit.

Our review in detail
Full assessment
ElixaMD is worth a closer look for its disclosed care and pharmacy partners. Its unresolved compounded figures, unclear branded membership cadence and competing refund statements prevent a confident recurring-cost or refund comparison.
What it is
ElixaMD LLC describes an online platform rather than a direct provider of medical or pharmacy services. Public disclosures identify OpenLoop Health and CareGLP Affiliated PCs as medical-treatment networks, with prescribing decisions retained by clinicians. These names are useful disclosures, but do not identify the particular medical practice that would treat an individual patient or independently establish credentials.
The official footer names Triad Rx in Daphne, Alabama; RedRock Pharmacy in St George, Utah; and Beaker Pharmacy & Compounding in McKinney, Texas. A partner list does not confirm which pharmacy fills a particular prescription or verify its license. Obtain the actual treating practice and dispenser as part of the proposed plan.
The public GLP-1 page distinguishes a compounded semaglutide program from advertised Wegovy Pill, Wegovy Injection and Zepbound Injection pathways. Availability is stated to be subject to change. Listing these options does not guarantee eligibility, fulfillment or an insurance benefit for a chosen medication.
How care works
The process begins with an online evaluation, then provider review and a prescription only when appropriate. If prescribed, medication is shipped by a pharmacy. The patient portal is described as supporting progress tracking and communication. Unlimited appointments, messages and support, twenty-four-hour support availability and expedited delivery are advertised, but a fixed clinical turnaround or guaranteed arrival date was not established.
Terms require patients to be at least eighteen and in a US state or territory where the service operates. The current state list is referred to customer service. Confirm access in your treatment location and ask about BMI criteria, exclusions, laboratory requirements and which services apply to the selected plan; a national website is not proof of every treatment being available everywhere.
The GLP-1 page describes prescriptions as cash-pay and says insurance may reimburse branded options. Terms describe medical entities as out of network and leave patients responsible for fees. Neither statement guarantees reimbursement. Nutrition visits promoted as free are qualified by insurance and copay eligibility determined at the visit. Confirm that benefit separately from medication and membership charges; the site’s HSA/FSA claim also does not guarantee approval by your plan.
Costs, billing and cancellation
A reliable numeric compounded price was not established from the public material reviewed. The returned offer text contained unresolved first-month and refill price fields. That finding does not establish what every visitor sees in a browser. Before paying, request the current first-month total, refill total, supplied amount, any dose-related changes and any multi-month obligation in writing.
The semaglutide FAQ says its first-month charge covers physician review, a personalized plan, guidance, a metabolic report, medication and shipping, with the same benefits described for refills. These stated inclusions help frame the quote but do not settle the missing amounts or establish every laboratory or service charge.
The branded offer cards display $99 Membership + Medication Cost without an explicit billing period in the reviewed card text. The medication is an additional cost; $99 is not an established monthly all-in treatment price. Ask for membership cadence, initial and renewal charges, the separate medication price and what happens if the selected branded product is unavailable or not covered. Keep that quote separate from the compounded bundle.
Medical consent says programs automatically renew until cancellation is requested before payment processing. The refund policy requires a request at least seventy-two hours before the next billing date, through its published support email or portal chat. Identify the next debit date and obtain cancellation confirmation; stopping treatment alone does not establish that future payments stop.
Refund language conflicts across the public policies. The refund page describes a full refund within the first seventy-two hours when no services have been received, a medical-disqualification refund and refunds for unshipped months under multi-month billing. The same page also says that, other than medical disqualification, no refund is issued; medical consent states no refunds or exchanges. These broad restrictions do not fit neatly with the listed exceptions. Do not rely on a particular refund until ElixaMD confirms the controlling agreement, services already used and amount recoverable.
The refund page separately provides for replacement of damaged medication with evidence and replacement of incorrect medication. Those provisions address fulfillment problems; they do not resolve unused-plan refunds, financial liability before or after clinical denial, or the effect of cancellation on an existing multi-month commitment.
Medication and evidence
The semaglutide program uses weekly injection framing and describes compounded GLP-1 treatment. Compounded medicines are not FDA approved and should not be assumed equivalent to approved brands. The advertised branded pathways are separate offers with a separate medication cost. Confirm the exact prescribed product, formulation, pharmacy, storage and follow-up with the clinician. The listing of a product pathway is not independent verification of its availability, regulatory claims or suitability for an individual.

Research relevant to ElixaMD
Explore the evidence and its limits. Findings apply to the formulation, route and population studied; they do not establish the quality or effectiveness of a provider’s products.
- What the semaglutide weight-loss trials actually showed
STEP 1, STEP 4 and SELECT, plus oral and higher-dose semaglutide trials: weight loss, withdrawal, cardiovascular benefit and the limits of comparison.
- Tirzepatide vs semaglutide for weight loss: what the trials actually support
SURMOUNT-5 found 20.2% versus 13.7% average weight loss. What that direct comparison supports, which doses it tested, and why newer formulations need separate evidence.

Frequently asked
- What does ElixaMD’s compounded semaglutide cost?
- A reliable numeric first-month or refill charge was not established. The reviewed public offer text had unresolved price fields; obtain a current written quote including supply, renewals and any multi-month commitment.
- Does the $99 branded offer include the medication?
- The cards label it Membership + Medication Cost, so the drug is additional. The displayed card text did not establish the membership billing period or complete treatment total.
- How early must I cancel, and will I receive a refund?
- The refund policy requires cancellation at least seventy-two hours before the next billing date by support email or portal chat. Refund exceptions appear alongside broad no-refund clauses, so cancellation alone does not establish a refund entitlement.
- Is ElixaMD legit?
- ElixaMD is a GLP-1 telehealth service. The medications it names are Compounded semaglutide injections, Wegovy pathways and Zepbound injections. Its stated availability: US locations where services are offered; complete state list not established. What it publishes up front: Compounded first-month/refill amounts unresolved; branded $99 membership has unspecified cadence plus medication cost. It is cash-pay and states it does not bill insurance. Before you pay, ask in writing about a single monthly price you can check before an intake and how its intake works.
