Elara Health and Wellness review
Labs and coaching included
A compounded GLP-1 program that folds quarterly labs and coaching every three weeks into one rate: $249 every four weeks for semaglutide with no prepayment. Not affiliated with Elara MD.
Our verdict
Elara Health and Wellness builds more care into its price than most compounded GLP-1 services. One rate, billed every four weeks, covers the medication if you're prescribed it, metabolic labs every quarter at Quest or Labcorp, a call with a certified health coach every three weeks, clinician-reviewed refills and shipping. With no prepayment, injectable semaglutide is $249, an oral semaglutide tablet $279 and tirzepatide $339, the same at every dose. It also names every company involved, including the four compounding pharmacies. The limits: it's self-pay only, the price is billed every four weeks rather than by calendar month, and a billing period can't be refunded once its medication ships. It is a separate company from Elara MD.

Elara Health and Wellness is operated by JTE Medical, LLC, a Florida limited liability company, and its Better Business Bureau file, which shows accreditation with an A rating, is in Pompano Beach. The company runs enrollment, billing and support; clinical care comes from OpenLoop Healthcare Partners, PC, a physician-led group of physicians, nurse practitioners and physician assistants licensed in your state. Its prescriptions are prepared by four named 503A compounding pharmacies: RedRock Pharmacy in St. George, Utah; Health Warehouse in Florence, Kentucky; Precision Compounding Pharmacy in Bellmore, New York; and Triad Rx in Daphne, Alabama. The site has a page that links to the state license lookup for each one. It sells optional supplement packs as well, which aren't needed to join. It doesn't publish a state list, saying only that availability depends on your state. Elara Health and Wellness has no connection to Elara MD, a separate company with its own website, pricing and menu.
How it works
The assessment is free and takes about five minutes: your health history and, if you've used a GLP-1 before, your previous prescription and dose records, along with any recent labs. A clinician reviews it and decides whether treatment is appropriate; if not, you aren't charged and nothing ships. If you're approved, medication typically ships within a week, once any required lab review is done. Your first included lab panel is drawn at Quest or Labcorp, with results reviewed each quarter after that. Your first coaching call comes around week three, then every three weeks, covering nutrition, activity and routines, while medical decisions stay with your clinician. Refills go through a form in the patient portal, and a clinician reviews each one before authorizing the next prescription, including whether the dose should change. Anti-nausea medication can be prescribed when appropriate, although it goes to your own pharmacy and is paid separately. Portal messages are answered during business hours, and phone support runs weekdays from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Eastern.
Pricing transparency
The pricing page sets out every plan side by side, billed every four weeks. With no prepayment, injectable semaglutide is $249, the oral semaglutide tablet $279 and tirzepatide $339. Prepaid plans lower the rate: semaglutide is $219 every four weeks on a 12-week plan ($657 up front), $199 on 24 weeks ($1,194) and $179 on 52 weeks ($2,327), with matching steps for the tablet (down to $209) and tirzepatide (down to $269). The price stays the same as your dose changes, though switching to a different medication can change it. New patients can request a $50 code for their first four weeks. The rate includes medication, clinical care, quarterly labs, coaching and shipping; supplements and any separately prescribed anti-nausea medication are extra. On cancellation, the four-week plan has no fee, and canceling stops the next renewal. If you end a prepaid plan early, the periods you used are recalculated at the shorter plan's rate with no extra exit fee, and any balance is refunded after reconciliation. A period whose medication has shipped is non-refundable, but if you cancel before the pharmacy fills an order, Elara Health and Wellness says it will refund that order. Damaged shipments reported within 48 hours are replaced. Insurance isn't used.
Branded vs compounded
Compounded semaglutide by weekly injection, a compounded oral semaglutide tablet, and compounded tirzepatide by weekly injection. Elara Health and Wellness states plainly that these are not FDA-approved, that the FDA hasn't evaluated compounded products for safety, effectiveness or quality, and that they aren't the same as brand-name drugs. The large weight-loss trials tested brand-name semaglutide and tirzepatide, so those results don't directly describe compounded versions, and no trial has tested a compounded oral semaglutide tablet. The FDA-approved oral semaglutide is a different, specially formulated product. No brand-name drug is sold. The included quarterly labs are a real advantage, since they give your clinician regular data on your metabolic health while you're on treatment. A search of the FDA warning-letter database for Elara Health and Wellness and for JTE Medical found no letters.

The evidence behind what Elara Health and Wellness prescribes
We grade the molecules, not the marketing. Here is what the human data actually shows for each thing on their menu.
- What the semaglutide weight-loss trials actually showed
STEP 1, STEP 4, and SELECT — the efficacy, the rebound, and the cardiovascular signal, read straight from the primary literature.
- GLP-1 pill vs injection: what you trade for swallowing it
Oral semaglutide 50 mg matched the injection to within 0.2 of a percentage point — but not at the approved dose, and the daily fasting protocol is the cost nobody mentions.
- Compounded vs branded GLP-1: regulatory status, sourcing and the evidence
Compounded GLP-1 isn't FDA-approved, the shortage exception behind it ended in 2025, the FDA moved against mass-marketed copies in 2026, and the trial data belong to the branded product. Here's the precise picture.
