What it is

Shed is a cash-pay weight-loss and wellness telehealth service. Its weight-loss menu covers compounded semaglutide and tirzepatide injections, semaglutide liquid drops and lozenges, a microdose GLP-1 plan, branded Wegovy (weekly pen or daily pill), Zepbound, the Foundayo pill, MIC + B12 injections and a metformin-naltrexone-topiramate capsule. Around it sit a longevity line (NAD⁺, glutathione, sermorelin, LDN and methylene blue), sexual-health and hair-loss treatments, and health coaching. Shed describes itself as an administrative and membership platform: prescribing is done by an independent provider group, and medication is dispensed by partner pharmacies.

How it works

Signup is an online form, about three minutes by Shed's estimate, reviewed by a licensed provider from the independent provider group. Whether you get an asynchronous review or need a video visit depends on your state's telehealth rules. If you're prescribed, medication ships to your door in the format you chose, and you're assigned a Member Success Team plus a Shed health coach for text-based support. Shed also gives members free access to Pivot, a GLP-1 tracking app for logging doses, side effects and weight. Its terms name six partner pharmacies: Strive Compounding Pharmacy (Gilbert, Arizona), Promise Pharmacy (Palm Harbor, Florida), DCA Pharmacy (Franklin, Tennessee), Everwell Pharmacy (Pensacola, Florida), Custom Ivy Pharmacy (Aliso Viejo, California) and Boothwyn Pharmacy. It doesn't say which one fills which product. Branded medications are filled and billed by a dispensing pharmacy, and Shed says Wegovy can go through insurance or cash pay.

Pricing transparency

Compounded semaglutide injections cost $199 a month on a 1-month plan, $179 a month on a 6-month plan and $159 a month on a 12-month plan. Compounded tirzepatide costs $299, $269 and $239 on the same plans. Lozenges are $199 a month month-to-month, liquid drops start at $229 a month, and the microdose plan starts at $149. The multi-month plans are prepaid. Shed's own example is a 6-month semaglutide plan at $1,074 paid up front, which delivers 24 weeks of medication; a 12-month plan delivers 48 weeks. If you cancel early, your used months are repriced at $199 and only unshipped cycles are refunded, and nothing is refunded inside the minimum term except for adverse reactions, military orders and similar cases. The month-to-month plan bills every 28 days or monthly, depending on the program, and the terms list a two-month minimum commitment. You need to cancel at least 72 hours before the next billing date, and charged fees aren't refunded. Branded drugs are priced as medication plus a separate $125-a-month Shed membership. Wegovy starts at $199 for the pen and $149 for the pill, Foundayo at $149, and Zepbound at $349 to $499. The Zepbound page also mentions a $99 membership in one line, and the category page lists Wegovy and Zepbound from $349, so confirm the total for your drug at checkout. The membership fee is refunded if you aren't approved and is non-refundable once you are. For the 120-Day Guarantee, Shed refunds everything you paid in the first 120 days if you don't lose 5% of your starting weight or reach your goal weight. You must be a first-time user of that class of medication, attend four monthly coaching appointments, log your weight twice a month, complete at least 60 of 120 daily check-ins in Pivot and submit every provider follow-up form on time.

Branded vs compounded

Compounded semaglutide and tirzepatide by weekly injection, semaglutide as liquid drops or lozenges, and a microdose plan using very small doses of compounded injectable semaglutide or tirzepatide. Shed's own disclaimer says compounded medications are not FDA-approved, and the FDA doesn't test them for potency or purity. Shed also quotes Wegovy's trial results next to its compounded products, but those results belong to the branded drug. The drops and lozenges are a step further from the evidence, since no FDA-approved semaglutide is taken under the tongue. Microdosing for energy, mood or healthy aging, as Shed pitches it, has no controlled trials behind it. On the branded side, Shed offers FDA-approved Wegovy pen and pill, Zepbound and the Foundayo (orforglipron) pill, which carry the trial evidence and require the $125 membership. The longevity add-ons don't carry the GLP-1s' outcome evidence.
