Chronos Body Health & Wellness review
Local care in Louisiana and Texas
A Metairie, Louisiana clinic whose telehealth program serves Louisiana and Texas, starting with a free live consultation and selling compounded GLP-1s in prepaid packages with no subscription.
Our verdict
Chronos is a local clinic, not a national app, and that shapes everything about it. Your first step is a free virtual consultation with a licensed provider instead of an automated questionnaire, the medical team is named on the site, and the program serves only Louisiana and Texas. Compounded semaglutide starts with a $149 starter package, and longer packages for semaglutide or tirzepatide are paid up front and last a couple of months or more at starting doses, so there's no monthly bill to cancel. For brand-name drugs, it charges $99 per visit and works your insurance, including prior authorizations and a Medicare GLP-1 program. The tradeoff is that pricing beyond the starter dose isn't spelled out, the compounding pharmacy isn't named, and there's no written refund policy.

Chronos Body Health & Wellness is a medical spa, wellness clinic and 24-hour fitness center at 3200 North Arnoult Road in Metairie, Louisiana, serving the New Orleans area in person. Its privacy policy names the business as BHW Center, LLC and Athena Health & Wellness, LLC, doing business as Chronos Body Health & Wellness. The medical director and owner is Dr. Mace Scott, MD, an LSU-trained emergency physician who moved into hormone therapy and metabolic medicine. The virtual weight-loss program, which it also calls Chronos Virtual Wellness, covers patients anywhere in Louisiana, with nurse practitioners Amanda Rodriguez, FNP-C, and Judith Baker, NP, among the providers, and a parallel Texas program with Dr. Dean Aubin, MD. Beyond weight loss, the clinic offers hormone replacement for men and women, injectables, laser treatments, IV hydration, NAD⁺ and B12 shots, but those services are in person in Metairie. The site displays a LegitScript seal.
How it works
You book a free virtual consultation with a licensed provider, who reviews your medical history and goals and recommends a GLP-1 option. There's no upfront payment and no obligation to continue. If you're a candidate, you and the provider choose between compounded medication and a brand-name drug. Compounded medication ships to your home with supplies; brand-name prescriptions go to the pharmacy of your choice. Follow-up care, check-ins and dose adjustments are included with the compounded packages, and the team also runs a phone line for telehealth weight-loss patients. Clinic hours are 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. on weekdays and 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Saturdays. If you live near Metairie, you can do the same program in person, including weekly injections given by the medical team.
Pricing transparency
Chronos sells compounded medication as packages rather than a monthly plan. The semaglutide starter package is $149 and includes the free consultation, follow-up care, shipping, supplies and an initial vial. An extended semaglutide package is $249 and an extended tirzepatide package is $475, each lasting about two and a half to three months at the starting dose. The site notes that doses usually rise over time, so later packages won't stretch as far, but it doesn't list prices beyond these starter options; for those, you'll need to ask. There's no subscription: you pay for the next package when you need it. The brand-name route works differently. The first visit is $99, each follow-up visit is $99, and the medication itself is billed by your pharmacy, through insurance or self-pay. The clinic handles prior authorizations for you. For people on Medicare, it runs a program around what it calls the Medicare GLP-1 Bridge: the clinic fee is $99 a month, and eligible patients may pay a $50 monthly copay for the medication, with eligibility decided by Medicare, not the clinic. Financing through Cherry and other lenders is available, and HSA and FSA cards are accepted. No refund or cancellation policy is published.
Branded vs compounded
Compounded semaglutide and compounded tirzepatide are the main options in the virtual program, and the site says compounded drugs are prescribed only when medically appropriate and under the federal 503A and 503B compounding rules. It doesn't name the pharmacy that prepares them. Compounded medications are not FDA-approved. When a provider recommends it, you can instead get brand-name Wegovy, Ozempic, Zepbound or Mounjaro, which are FDA-approved and filled at your own pharmacy. The clinic also has a microdosing program for lower GLP-1 doses. The average weight loss its FAQ quotes comes from clinical studies rather than from its own patients' results. A search of the FDA warning-letter database under the clinic's name, its web address and both company names returned no letters.

The evidence behind what Chronos Body Health & Wellness prescribes
We grade the molecules, not the marketing. Here is what the human data actually shows for each thing on their menu.
- What the semaglutide weight-loss trials actually showed
STEP 1, STEP 4, and SELECT — the efficacy, the rebound, and the cardiovascular signal, read straight from the primary literature.
- Tirzepatide vs semaglutide for weight loss: what the trials actually support
Most comparisons are cross-trial. Only SURPASS-2 and SURMOUNT-5 randomized one drug against the other — here's the precise distinction.
- GLP-1 cost and insurance coverage: what drives the price, and what's actually covered
List price, net price, and your price are three different numbers. Indication drives coverage, savings cards have fine print, and cost is itself a clinical variable.
