Mixx Health & Wellness review
Live visits, unclear price
A physician-led telehealth practice that prescribes compounded tirzepatide after a free live consultation, with a named Florida pharmacy and prices that range from $120 to $235 a month.
Our verdict
Mixx Health & Wellness feels more like a small medical practice than a subscription app. You book a free consultation with a licensed provider, follow-ups are free and unlimited, and the site names its medical director, his state licenses and the pharmacy that compounds your medication. Those are real strengths. The weak spot is the paperwork. The homepage says plans start at $120 a month while the treatment page says $235, and the FAQ promises commitments from one month while the terms require three months paid at purchase. Payments are final. Get the price and commitment in writing before you hand over a card.

Mixx Health and Wellness LLC owns and operates the website, and its clinical care runs through Elevis Medical Group, which handles prescriptions, pharmacy choice and cancellation requests. The medical director is Dr. James David Lawrence III, MD, a Georgia physician who lists licenses in about 30 other states and D.C. The practice also offers testosterone therapy, female hormone therapy and virtual primary care. Its FAQ lists 40 states plus Washington, D.C.: Alabama, Arizona, Colorado, Connecticut, Delaware, Florida, Georgia, Hawaii, Idaho, Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Kansas, Kentucky, Louisiana, Maine, Maryland, Michigan, Minnesota, Mississippi, Missouri, Montana, Nebraska, Nevada, New Hampshire, New Jersey, North Carolina, North Dakota, Ohio, Oklahoma, Pennsylvania, South Dakota, Tennessee, Texas, Utah, Vermont, Washington, West Virginia, Wisconsin and Wyoming. California, New York, Massachusetts and Virginia are not on the list. It doesn't take insurance; FSA and HSA cards are accepted. Its terms are governed by Wyoming law. It displays a LegitScript seal (ID 39598028).
How it works
You start by booking a free consultation, by phone or video, with a board-certified provider who builds your treatment plan. Before the visit you must return the patient paperwork and consent forms and upload a photo ID to the patient portal, because the practice verifies identity for telemedicine. If you're more than five minutes late or the forms aren't in, the appointment counts as a cancellation. Prescriptions are written at the physician's discretion after that first consultation, and medication ships to your door from the partner pharmacy. Follow-up check-ins are free and unlimited, through the practice's messaging system or further appointments; office hours run weekdays, with evening and weekend appointments available. When you agree to an order or refill with your provider, you authorize the practice to charge your card on file and send the prescription.
Pricing transparency
The homepage says plans start at $120 a month, but the GLP-1/GIP treatment page lists a starting price of $235 a month for a flat-rate consultation plus one compounded prescription, and the site doesn't explain the gap. Consultations and follow-ups are free, and the FAQ says you're charged only for the medication you're prescribed, with no subscriptions or recurring charges, and that commitments start at one month. The terms of service say otherwise for subscription products: they require a minimum of three consecutive months, with the first month and the next two charged at purchase and non-refundable, and you may cancel only after the three months, with 15 days' notice before the next monthly charge. The return policy says all payments are final and prescription medications aren't refundable. You have 24 hours after payment to ask to cancel or change an order, which needs approval and may cost $125. Missing an appointment or canceling with less than 24 hours' notice costs $100. A card processing fee is added to each transaction. If you're not medically appropriate for treatment, your initial payment is refunded.
Branded vs compounded
Compounded tirzepatide by weekly injection, which the site calls compounded GLP-1/GIP. No compounded semaglutide or brand-name GLP-1 is offered. The medication is compounded by Promise Pharmacy in Palm Harbor, Florida, which the site and its terms name, although the terms also let the medical group choose other pharmacies and say a request for a preferred pharmacy may not be honored. The site's description of the drug mixes up its mechanism in places, calling it a GLP-1 receptor agonist that mimics GLP-1 rather than a dual GIP and GLP-1 agonist; your provider can explain the difference. Compounded tirzepatide is not FDA-approved, and its results haven't been tested in the trials behind Zepbound. The FAQ's claim that the average patient can expect to lose up to 30 pounds in three months and 50 pounds in six is the company's own and isn't sourced. A search of the FDA warning-letter database for Mixx Health, Elevis and Promise Pharmacy found no letters.

The evidence behind what Mixx Health & Wellness prescribes
We grade the molecules, not the marketing. Here is what the human data actually shows for each thing on their menu.
- Tirzepatide vs semaglutide for weight loss: what the trials actually support
Most comparisons are cross-trial. Only SURPASS-2 and SURMOUNT-5 randomized one drug against the other — here's the precise distinction.
- Compounded vs branded GLP-1: regulatory status, sourcing and the evidence
Compounded GLP-1 isn't FDA-approved, the shortage exception behind it ended in 2025, the FDA moved against mass-marketed copies in 2026, and the trial data belong to the branded product. Here's the precise picture.
- 503A vs 503B compounding pharmacies: what the difference actually buys you
Both make drugs the FDA has never approved. Only one must meet CGMP, gets inspected on a schedule, and appears in a public table with its inspection outcomes.
