Ondra Health review

Flat price, named pharmacies

Compounded semaglutide at $149 a month and tirzepatide at $219 on a monthly plan, all-inclusive, with named prescribers and a choice of named pharmacies. All 50 states.

Our verdict

Ondra Health is one of the more transparent compounded GLP-1 services. It prints a full price table, names the two medical practices whose providers prescribe, names every pharmacy it uses, and lets you pick which one fills your order. The monthly plan is $149 for semaglutide and $219 for tirzepatide with the consultation, medication, supplies and shipping included, the price doesn't rise with your dose, and there's no membership fee. Prepaid plans bring the monthly cost down to as little as $96 and $142, but only through two of its pharmacies. The catches are the usual ones for compounded care: once your prescription reaches the pharmacy the order is final, and a provider review that ends in a prescription carries a $25 fee even if you cancel.

What it is

Ondra Health Inc. is a Los Angeles company at 355 South Grand Avenue that runs an online platform for GLP-1 weight management. It doesn't practice medicine or dispense drugs itself. Prescriptions are written by independent providers at two practices: Wasef Health, PC, whose medical director is internist Dr. David Wasef and which also serves Puerto Rico, and Arora Health & Aesthetics, LLC. The site names four physicians with their NPI numbers. Medication comes from state-licensed 503A and 503B compounding pharmacies: Hallandale Pharmacy, Vials RX, Boudreaux's New Drug Store, Southend Pharmacy, Drug Crafters Pharmacy, and Hyalo Pharmacy, which is filled through Quaker Community Pharmacy and New Life RX and handles tirzepatide only. Service covers all 50 states, though each pharmacy skips some states and the site lists exactly which. Ondra displays a LegitScript seal, is cash-pay only, and serves adults 18 and older.

How it works

Before you start, you pick your medication and a preferred pharmacy from those that ship to your state, which also determines whether additives such as B12, B6 or glycine are included or whether you get an additive-free formula. Then you complete a short online health intake. A provider reviews it, usually within 24 hours, and decides whether a phone or video visit is needed; that depends on your state and history, and you'll be prompted during intake if one is required. If you're approved, the prescription goes to your chosen pharmacy and medication typically ships within two to five business days with all supplies included. Your card is only authorized at checkout, and the charge is finalized after a provider approves you; if you aren't approved, the hold is released. After that, a patient portal handles provider messaging, refill requests, dose adjustments and shipment tracking.

Pricing transparency

Compounded semaglutide is $149 a month on the monthly plan, $339 every three months ($113 a month), $649 for six months ($108) or $1,149 for twelve ($96). Compounded tirzepatide is $219 monthly, $549 a quarter ($183), $999 for six months ($167) or $1,699 for twelve ($142). Every plan includes the provider consultation, medication, supplies and shipping, there's no membership fee, and the price is the same at every dose. Monthly and quarterly plans work with every partner pharmacy; the 6- and 12-month plans are available only through Hallandale Pharmacy and Vials RX, and they're billed in full up front. You can cancel an order before the prescription is sent to the pharmacy, but if a provider has already reviewed your intake and written a prescription, a $25 consultation fee is kept. Once the order reaches the pharmacy, charges are final. Ending a 6- or 12-month plan early refunds what you paid minus the quarterly price for each three-month supply already sent. HSA and FSA cards work, as do Klarna, Affirm and Afterpay. Insurance isn't accepted.

Branded vs compounded

Compounded semaglutide and compounded tirzepatide, both as weekly self-injections. Semaglutide starts at 0.25 mg a week and tirzepatide at 2.5 mg, with your provider stepping the dose up over time. Ondra is clear that compounded medications are not FDA-approved, are not therapeutically equivalent to Wegovy, Ozempic, Zepbound or Mounjaro, and haven't been studied in the trials behind those brands; it labels its trial statistics as results for the brand-name products. Formulas differ by pharmacy, so check the pharmacy partners page for additives before you choose. There are no brand-name drugs, oral options or other treatments. A search of the FDA warning-letter database for Ondra Health and for Wasef Health returned no letters.

Is Ondra Health expensive compared with other GLP-1 telehealth providers?
Ondra Health publishes a starting figure of $149/mo. Across the 87 GLP-1 telehealth providers we review that publish a single monthly figure, those run $49 to $399 with a median of $190, which puts Ondra Health below the median, toward the cheaper end. The other 101 GLP-1 telehealth providers we review quote only after an intake or price by dose, so they are not in that comparison. A starting figure is not a bill — labs, consultations and shipping are often charged separately, so confirm what your own quote includes.
