Alloy review

Menopause doctors, many GLP-1 options

A menopause-focused telehealth company whose $99-a-month Weight Care program adds GLP-1 treatment, from compounded semaglutide at $70 to Zepbound and the Wegovy pill.

Our verdict

Alloy is a women's health company first, and its weight program is built for women in perimenopause and menopause. The pitch is the doctors: menopause-specialized physicians who can manage a GLP-1 and hormone therapy together. The menu is wide, from compounded semaglutide, tirzepatide and liraglutide to brand-name Zepbound, Wegovy, the Wegovy pill and Foundayo. The cost has two parts: a $99 monthly Weight Care fee for the doctor, plus medication, so the cheapest month-to-month total is $169 with compounded semaglutide and the brand-name routes run from about $248 a month upward. That's reasonable for the specialty care, but not the cheapest way to get a GLP-1. The Weight Care fee is never refunded, you need to cancel seven days before renewal, and it can't treat people in Louisiana or Mississippi.

What it is

Alloy is a telehealth company for women at midlife, mainly known for menopause hormone therapy, with treatments for skin, sexual health, hair and gut health alongside its weight program. Its terms name Alloy Health, Inc. and say Alloy is not a medical group: consultations come from independent U.S.-licensed physicians, which it describes as board-certified menopause specialists who follow guidance from ACOG and The Menopause Society. Compounded and other mail-order prescriptions go through three pharmacies its terms name: Curexa Pharmacy in New Jersey, BLEND Pharmacy in Ohio and Gogo Pharmacy in Kentucky. Brand-name Wegovy is filled by NovoCare and Zepbound by LillyDirect, the manufacturers' own pharmacies. Support is by email or text, from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. Eastern on weekdays and 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. on weekends. Weight Care is offered in most states, with brand-name drugs only in Alabama, Arkansas, California, Nevada and D.C., and no weight care in Louisiana or Mississippi. The site displays a LegitScript seal.

How it works

You fill out an online intake about your health, symptoms and goals, which takes five to ten minutes, and a doctor reviews it and sends a plan, usually within 12 hours. If a compounded drug is prescribed, it ships free to your door; if a brand-name drug is prescribed, the doctor sends it to NovoCare or LillyDirect, which sends you a link to pay and then ships it. From there, the Weight Care fee covers unlimited messaging with your doctor, refills, renewals and dose adjustments through titration and maintenance, side-effect management, and nutrition and exercise guidance aimed at midlife. Personalized dosing, including gentler starts and microdosing, is available. If you also take menopause hormone therapy, the same doctor can coordinate the two, and you can switch between medications through the program as your needs change.

Pricing transparency

Weight Care is $99 a month, and medication is extra. Compounded semaglutide starts at $70 for a one-month supply, compounded tirzepatide at $100, and compounded liraglutide, a daily injection, at $115. Brand-name prices are listed from $299 a month for Zepbound or the Zepbound KwikPen, from $199 for the Wegovy pen, and from $149 for the Wegovy pill or Foundayo; the brand-name drugs are paid to the manufacturer's pharmacy. So the lowest monthly total is $169 with compounded semaglutide. New customers get $50 off the first month of Weight Care with a code. The subscription renews automatically, and to stop it you cancel at least seven days before the end of the billing period, by email or from your dashboard. Membership and consultation fees are non-refundable; refund requests for physical products must be made within 30 days of delivery, and drugs bought from a manufacturer's pharmacy aren't refundable through Alloy. It doesn't take insurance, but it gives receipts you can submit for HSA, FSA or out-of-network reimbursement.

Branded vs compounded

Alloy offers one of the widest GLP-1 menus around. Brand-name Wegovy and Zepbound are FDA-approved for weight management, and so are the Wegovy pill and Foundayo, both daily tablets. Compounded semaglutide, tirzepatide and liraglutide are prepared by licensed compounding pharmacies for individual patients, and Alloy's disclosures say clearly that compounded drugs are not FDA-approved or reviewed for safety, effectiveness or quality. The average weight-loss figures on its pages, about 15% for Wegovy and up to 20% for Zepbound, come from the branded drugs. Compounded and microdosed options aren't available in Alabama, Arkansas, California, Nevada or D.C. A search of the FDA warning-letter database under Alloy and its site name returned no letters to the company.

Frequently asked

How much does Alloy Weight Care cost?
Weight Care is $99 a month, and medication is extra: compounded semaglutide from $70, compounded tirzepatide from $100, the Wegovy pill or Foundayo from $149, Wegovy from $199 and Zepbound from $299. The lowest monthly total is $169.
Is medication included in the $99 fee?
No. The fee covers your doctor, messaging, dose adjustments and side-effect management. Medication is billed separately, and brand-name drugs are paid to NovoCare or LillyDirect.
Can I take a GLP-1 with hormone therapy at Alloy?
Yes. Alloy says the two can be used together and its doctors can coordinate them when it's clinically appropriate.
Which states can't use Alloy Weight Care?
Louisiana and Mississippi. In Alabama, Arkansas, California, Nevada and D.C., only brand-name drugs are offered, not compounded or microdosed options.
How do I cancel Alloy?
Cancel by email or from your dashboard at least seven days before your billing period ends. Your account closes at the end of that period, and the monthly fee isn't refunded.
Is Alloy legit?
Alloy is a GLP-1 telehealth service you reach through an online questionnaire and an online intake a clinician reviews. The medications it names are Compounded semaglutide, Compounded tirzepatide, branded medication and Wegovy pill or Foundayo. Its stated availability: 48 states and D.C. (not LA or MS). What it publishes up front: $99/mo Weight Care plus medication: compounded semaglutide from $70/mo, tirzepatide from $100/mo; Wegovy from $199, Zepbound from $299, Wegovy pill or Foundayo from $149. It is cash-pay and states it does not bill insurance. It shows a LegitScript seal. Ask the company for its certificate number before you rely on it. Those are the provider's own published claims rather than checks we could run ourselves, so get the ones that matter to you confirmed in writing before you pay.
Is Alloy expensive compared with other GLP-1 telehealth providers?
Alloy publishes a starting figure of $169/mo. Across the 87 GLP-1 telehealth providers we review that publish a single monthly figure, those run $49 to $399 with a median of $190, which puts Alloy below the median, toward the cheaper end. The other 101 GLP-1 telehealth providers we review quote only after an intake or price by dose, so they are not in that comparison. A starting figure is not a bill — labs, consultations and shipping are often charged separately, so confirm what your own quote includes.
