Avono Health review

No membership, one monthly price

An online telehealth brand selling compounded semaglutide and tirzepatide, by injection or orally, at one monthly price with no membership or clinician fee.

Our verdict

Avono Health keeps the price simple: the monthly figure on each treatment page is what you pay, with no membership, clinician fee or shipping charge on top. Standard compounded semaglutide injections are $219 a month and tirzepatide $299, and the site explains the difference between its standard and lower-dose microdose programs more carefully than most, including that microdose levels are below the doses tested in the big trials. Your card is only charged if a clinician prescribes. The trade-offs are what isn't published: the pharmacy isn't named, there's no list of states, and cancellation terms depend on details disclosed only once you enroll. It suits people who value a clear price and plain-spoken education over a named, ongoing relationship with one clinician. Before you start, ask whether your state is covered and which pharmacy will fill your order.

What it is

Avono Health is the brand of Avono LLC, which describes itself as a U.S.-based digital health platform and administrative service provider. It says it doesn't practice medicine, prescribe, dispense or compound drugs. Care is delivered through CareValidate, a telehealth platform that handles intake, provider review, messaging and pharmacy coordination, and medical services may be provided by Lion MD, a nationwide medical group led by Dr. Ana Lisa Carr, MD, and Dr. Kelly Tenbrink, MD. Prescriptions are filled by U.S.-licensed pharmacy partners that aren't named. Alongside weight management it offers hair loss, sexual health, NAD⁺ and sermorelin treatments. It says it is LegitScript-certified. Charges may appear on your card as CareValidate.

How it works

You pick a treatment, then start a secure intake in a new tab that covers your health history and current medications and puts a payment method on file. That payment is authorized, not charged. A licensed clinician reviews your answers and may approve the treatment, suggest a different one, ask for more information or decline. Depending on your state and treatment, the review may happen in writing or may require a live visit. If you're prescribed, the authorized payment is completed and the prescription goes to a pharmacy partner, which generally ships within two to three business days, cold-packed when needed. Afterward, clinical questions go through the patient portal to your care team, and order or account questions go to Avono's U.S.-based support team. Every refill and dose change is treated as a clinical decision, so ongoing treatment depends on your clinician approving each step rather than on an automatic subscription alone.

Pricing transparency

Avono charges one price per treatment, with no monthly membership, no separate clinician fee and free shipping. Standard compounded semaglutide injections are $219 a month and compounded tirzepatide injections $299. Oral semaglutide capsules are $289 a month and oral tirzepatide capsules $349. The lower-dose microdose program costs $159 a month for semaglutide injections and $219 for tirzepatide injections, with dissolving-tablet versions too; it is a separate program for people whose clinician keeps them in that dose range. Its FAQ says some treatments come in three-, six- or 12-month options, with pricing shown on the treatment page when offered. Your card isn't charged unless you're prescribed. Its terms say you must cancel before the renewal cutoff shown at enrollment, and that fees aren't refundable once a pharmacy has started processing, compounding or shipping an order.

Branded vs compounded

Avono offers compounded semaglutide and compounded tirzepatide as weekly injections, oral capsules and lower-dose microdose injections or dissolving tablets. It labels them clearly as compounded and not FDA-approved, and notes that the FDA doesn't review compounded drugs for safety, effectiveness or quality before they're sold. Its education pages are careful about evidence: they quote the main trials of the brand-name drugs, then say those results don't predict what a compounded version will do, and they say its microdose program uses lower doses than those studied, so its weight-loss effect is less established. The pharmacy that fills your prescription isn't named on the site. A search of the FDA warning-letter database under Avono, its domain and CareValidate returned no letters.

Frequently asked

How much does Avono Health cost?
Standard compounded semaglutide injections are $219 a month and tirzepatide injections $299. Oral capsules are $289 and $349. The microdose program starts at $159 a month. There's no membership, clinician or shipping fee.
When does Avono charge my card?
Your payment is authorized during intake and charged only if a clinician approves and prescribes treatment. The charge may show as CareValidate.
Who are Avono's clinicians?
Care may be provided by Lion MD, a nationwide medical group led by Dr. Ana Lisa Carr, MD, and Dr. Kelly Tenbrink, MD, through the CareValidate telehealth platform.
What is Avono's microdose program?
A separate lower-dose compounded program from $159 a month. Avono says these doses are below those studied in the main obesity trials, so the weight-loss effect is less established.
Can I get a refund from Avono?
Generally not once a clinician has reviewed your intake or a pharmacy has started processing your order. Cancel before the renewal cutoff shown at enrollment to avoid the next charge.
Does Avono offer brand-name Wegovy or Zepbound?
Not on its weight program today. Its GLP-1 options are compounded semaglutide and tirzepatide, by injection or orally. Its FAQ says it may offer commercially made drugs in some programs, and the treatment page or intake identifies when a product is compounded.
Is Avono Health legit?
Avono Health is a GLP-1 telehealth service you reach through an online questionnaire and an online intake a clinician reviews. The medications it names are Compounded semaglutide, Compounded tirzepatide, Oral semaglutide (compounded) and Oral tirzepatide (compounded). What it publishes up front: Compounded semaglutide $219/mo, tirzepatide $299/mo, oral forms from $289/mo; microdose from $159/mo; no membership, clinician or shipping fee. Before you pay, ask in writing about which states it serves and whether it bills insurance.
Is Avono Health expensive compared with other GLP-1 telehealth providers?
Avono Health publishes a starting figure of $219/mo. Across the 87 GLP-1 telehealth providers we review that publish a single monthly figure, those run $49 to $399 with a median of $190, which puts Avono Health above the median. The other 101 GLP-1 telehealth providers we review quote only after an intake or price by dose, so they are not in that comparison. A starting figure is not a bill — labs, consultations and shipping are often charged separately, so confirm what your own quote includes.
