Hers review
Brand-name, app-first
The women's brand of Hims & Hers, selling brand-name Wegovy, Zepbound, Foundayo and Ozempic. Medication starts at $149/mo, and a required $149 monthly membership makes it about $298 all-in.
Our verdict
Hers is the women's side of Hims & Hers Health, and its weight program is a straight brand-name offer: the Wegovy pill and pen, Zepbound, the Foundayo pill, the Ozempic pill and pen, and Mounjaro, with no compounded drugs on the menu. The prices you see first are for the medication only. Every patient also pays for a Hers Weight Loss Membership, $39 for the first month and $149 a month after, so the least expensive plan, a starting Wegovy pill or Foundayo, comes to about $188 in month one and $298 a month after that. In return you get 24/7 messaging with licensed providers, monthly Care Team follow-ups, an app with weight tracking, an optional smart scale and a private community of women on the same program. It is cash-pay, GLP-1s are not offered in every state, and the company received an FDA warning letter about the Hers brand in September 2025.

Hers is the women's brand of Hims & Hers Health, Inc., the telehealth company behind Hims. Alongside weight loss it sells hair, menopause and hormone care and an at-home health check, and its weight program, Weight Loss by Hers, pairs a prescription GLP-1 with a paid membership run mostly through its app. The program's clinical leads named on the site are Dr. Jessica Shepherd, a board-certified OB/GYN and the Chief Medical Officer of Hers, and Dr. Craig Primack, an obesity specialist. Prescribing is done by state-licensed providers in the company's network. The site displays a LegitScript seal (ID 11008607). The Hims brand runs the same program and price list and is reviewed separately.
How it works
You start with an online intake about your health history and goals. A state-licensed provider reviews it and decides whether you qualify and which drug fits. Depending on your state, that decision can be made without a video visit; where one is needed, it is a video or audio appointment. If you are prescribed, Hers says you can start as soon as the same week. After that, care runs through the app: 24/7 messaging with licensed providers, monthly follow-ups with your Care Team, dose changes you can request in the app, help with side effects such as nausea, and weight tracking. Members can opt in to a free smart scale (a $55 value that ships separately and isn't available everywhere), join a private Facebook group of women on the program, and use member discounts from brands including HelloFresh, Factor, MyFitnessPal, Ladder and Natural Cycles. If you already take a GLP-1 elsewhere, Hers says its providers can often continue your treatment after reviewing your history rather than starting you over. GLP-1s are not available in all 50 states, and the site does not list the states that are excluded.
Pricing transparency
Hers bills two things separately. The Weight Loss Membership is $39 for the first month and renews at $149 a month. It does not include medication or guarantee a prescription, and medication cannot be bought without it. Medication is billed on top, monthly or upfront depending on the plan. Starting prices for medication alone are $149 a month for the Wegovy pill, the Wegovy pill microdosing plan, Foundayo and the Ozempic pill; $199 for the Wegovy pen and the Ozempic pen; and $299 for the Zepbound vial and KwikPen. Mounjaro and a second Zepbound listing are shown at $1,899 a month. These are "from" prices, and Hers notes that pricing may vary by dosage, so expect the medication charge to rise as your dose goes up. Adding the membership gives the real cost after the first month: about $298 a month for the Wegovy pill or Foundayo, $348 for the Wegovy pen and $448 for Zepbound. Insurance isn't used. Hers recommends paying with a regular card and claiming FSA or HSA reimbursement afterward, because paying with an FSA/HSA card can add receipt steps. You can cancel a medication plan without ending the membership, but canceling the membership also cancels your medication and your access to care through the platform.
Branded vs compounded
Brand-name only: the Wegovy pill and pen (semaglutide), the Zepbound vial and KwikPen (tirzepatide), the Foundayo pill (orforglipron), the Ozempic pill and pen (semaglutide) and Mounjaro (tirzepatide). Wegovy, Zepbound and Foundayo are FDA-approved for weight management. Ozempic and Mounjaro are approved for type 2 diabetes, and Hers says they are available only to patients who meet the clinical criteria. These are the drugs the large weight-loss trials tested, which is the main thing the higher price buys over a compounded service; Hers cites a 71-week study of the 25 mg Wegovy pill in which adults lost 13.6% of body weight on average alongside diet and exercise. The microdosing plan uses lower doses of the Wegovy pill than that study did, so its results don't describe the plan. The FDA warning letter of September 2025 concerned claims Hers made about compounded semaglutide it was selling at the time, including "same active ingredient as Ozempic and Wegovy". Its weight menu carries no compounded drug today, and the letter is disclosed and linked on this page.
FDA warning letter on record
The FDA issued a warning letter naming Hims & Hers Health, Inc., the company behind Hers.
- Letter 716825, issued September 9, 2025 — read it on fda.gov
We publish this because it is a matter of public record and a reader weighing this provider should have it. A warning letter is the FDA setting out alleged violations; it is not a court finding, and a company may have responded or corrected since. It does not remove Hers from this site, and it does not change our verdict — read the letter and decide for yourself.
Pros and watch-outs
What we like
- FDA-approved brand-name medication only, including the Wegovy and Foundayo pills
- A starting medication price is shown for every drug
- 24/7 messaging with licensed providers and monthly Care Team follow-ups
- A visit may not need video, depending on your state
- Can often continue a GLP-1 you started elsewhere
- Displays a LegitScript seal
Watch-outs
- The required $149 membership roughly doubles the headline price: about $298 a month all-in at the cheapest
- No per-dose price list, so the cost of moving up a dose isn't shown
- Cash-pay only; insurance isn't used
- GLP-1s aren't offered in every state, and the excluded states aren't listed
- FDA warning letter about the Hers brand in September 2025
Best for
Women who want a brand-name GLP-1, including a pill, through a polished app with round-the-clock messaging, and who don't need insurance billing.
Who should look elsewhere
Anyone who wants insurance to pay for the drug, wants to see the price at every dose before starting, or is shopping on the lowest monthly cost.
The evidence behind what Hers prescribes
We grade the molecules, not the marketing. Here is what the human data actually shows for each thing on their menu.
- The Wegovy pill (oral semaglutide 25 mg): what OASIS 4 actually showed
The first oral GLP-1 approved for weight loss — and why the −16.6% everyone quotes is not the trial's primary result.
- Zepbound vs Wegovy: what the trials actually show
Zepbound (tirzepatide) leads on weight loss in the one head-to-head trial; Wegovy (semaglutide) has the cardiovascular-outcomes approval. An honest comparison.
- Orforglipron: the oral non-peptide GLP-1, and what the trials actually show
A once-daily small-molecule GLP-1 pill with no food restrictions — from Phase 2 proof of concept to the Phase 3 read-outs. The evidence, graded.
- “Microdosing” GLP-1 drugs: a trend, not a protocol — what the evidence says
Sub-therapeutic semaglutide and tirzepatide is spreading fast. The pharmacology is clear, the honest part is clearer: efficacy is dose-related, and no trial has tested intentional microdosing.

Frequently asked
- How much does Hers weight loss cost all-in?
- Medication plus a required membership. The membership is $39 for the first month and $149 a month after. Medication starts at $149 a month for the Wegovy pill, Foundayo or the Ozempic pill, $199 for the Wegovy pen and $299 for Zepbound. After the first month, the cheapest plan is about $298 a month, a Wegovy pen about $348 and Zepbound about $448, and more at higher doses.
- Is Hers different from Hims?
- They are two brands of the same company, Hims & Hers Health, and the weight programs share the same drugs, the same membership price and the same app-based care. Hers is marketed to women, with a women's community, women's health leadership and women's health services alongside weight loss. Each has its own review.
- Does Hers offer compounded semaglutide?
- Not on its weight menu, which lists only brand-name drugs: the Wegovy pill and pen, Zepbound, Foundayo, the Ozempic pill and pen, and Mounjaro. Hers did sell compounded semaglutide in 2025, and the FDA's September 2025 warning letter was about how it described that product.
- Can I get GLP-1 medication from Hers without the membership?
- No. Hers states that medication is not available without an active Weight Loss Membership. You can cancel a medication plan and keep the membership, but canceling the membership ends your medication and your access to care.
- Do I need a video visit with Hers?
- It depends on your state. In some states a provider can decide on treatment from your intake alone; in others you will have a short video or audio appointment. After that, you can message a provider in the app at any time.
- Is Hers legit?
- FDA has a warning letter on record against Hims & Hers Health, Inc., the company behind Hers, issued September 9, 2025 as letter 716825; it is linked further down this page. A warning letter is a public record worth reading. It doesn't by itself mean you can't use this provider. Hers is a GLP-1 telehealth service you reach through an online intake a clinician reviews and a video visit with a clinician. The medications it names are branded medication. Its stated availability: Not all 50 states. What it publishes up front: Medication from $149/mo plus a required membership ($39 first month, then $149/mo), about $298/mo all-in. It is cash-pay and states it does not bill insurance. It shows a LegitScript seal. Ask the company for its certificate number before you rely on it. Before you pay, ask in writing about a single monthly price you can check before an intake.
