MEDvidi review
Pay per visit, meds separate
A mental-health telehealth practice that also prescribes branded GLP-1s after a video visit, at $195 for the first appointment, with the medication bought at your own pharmacy. It is not MEDVi.
Our verdict
MEDvidi is a different kind of service from most GLP-1 sellers. It does not sell medication. You pay for a video appointment, $195 for the first and $159 for each follow-up, and if the clinician prescribes a GLP-1, the prescription goes to the pharmacy you choose. That suits someone whose drug insurance may cover a branded GLP-1 such as Wegovy or Zepbound and who simply needs a prescriber. It does not suit a cash buyer looking for an all-in monthly price, because the medication cost sits entirely on top. Its core business is mental health care, and weight loss is one service among several.

An online clinic run by MEDvidi Inc., a Delaware corporation, which provides management services to MEDVidi Health P.C., a California professional corporation whose clinicians deliver the care. It is based in San Jose, California. Its focus is ADHD, anxiety, depression and insomnia, and medical weight-loss care with prescriptions is one of its services. It is easy to confuse with MEDVi, a separate company with a similar name: MEDVi, LLC sells compounded GLP-1 programs with the medication included, while MEDvidi sells video visits and leaves the medication to your pharmacy. MEDvidi says it has a team of more than 100 licensed providers. It displays a LegitScript seal.
How it works
You create an account, fill in basic personal and medical information and book an appointment, usually available within 24 hours. The first visit is a 30-minute video consultation in which a doctor, nurse practitioner or physician assistant reviews your weight history, medicines, BMI, diet, activity and mental health, and may order lab tests to check for thyroid, heart or kidney problems. If you qualify, generally a BMI of 30 or more, or 27 or more with a weight-related condition, the clinician can send a prescription to your chosen pharmacy. Follow-ups are 15-minute video visits to track progress and adjust the plan. The patient portal lets you track a prescription and switch pharmacies if yours is out of stock. The FAQ lists 35 states it serves, and notes that some states require an in-person visit before weight-loss medication can be prescribed.
Pricing transparency
The weight-loss page lists three prices: $195 for an introductory consultation, $159 for a follow-up, and $249 for a package of one of each. Payment may be split, with part charged at booking and the rest just before the appointment. MEDvidi does not accept insurance for visits, though it offers help with insurance coverage for semaglutide, and it notes that you can ask your plan about prior authorization. The medication is not included in any fee. You buy it at your pharmacy, at whatever your insurance or the pharmacy charges, and branded GLP-1s are expensive without coverage. The refund policy is specific: cancel at least eight hours ahead for a full refund; cancel or reschedule later and there is no refund plus a $50 fee; miss the appointment and there is a $100 no-show fee. Refund requests must be made within 15 days of payment, and no refund is given if a pharmacy declines to fill the prescription.
Branded vs compounded
The clinicians can prescribe branded semaglutide (Wegovy, Ozempic, Rybelsus), tirzepatide (Zepbound, Mounjaro), liraglutide (Saxenda, Victoza) and dulaglutide (Trulicity), plus non-GLP-1 options including phentermine, phentermine-topiramate (Qsymia), naltrexone-bupropion (Contrave), topiramate, metformin and orlistat. Compounded GLP-1s are not on its medication list. Several of these, such as Ozempic, Mounjaro and Trulicity, are approved for type 2 diabetes rather than weight loss, so insurers may not cover them for weight management. The clinician decides what is appropriate, and the site warns that you may be prescribed something different from what you asked for.
Pros and watch-outs
What we like
- Clinicians can prescribe branded, FDA-approved GLP-1s and send them to the pharmacy you choose
- Clear visit prices: $195 first visit, $159 follow-up, $249 for both
- Live video visit with a clinician, with lab testing ordered when needed
- Wide range of non-GLP-1 weight-loss medicines as well
- Displays a LegitScript seal; the company and its medical practice are named
Watch-outs
- Medication is never included, so the total cost depends on your pharmacy and coverage
- No insurance accepted for visits
- $50 late-cancellation fee and $100 no-show fee
- Available in 35 states, and some states need an in-person visit for weight-loss medication
- Weight loss is a side line to its mental-health practice
Best for
Readers with insurance that may cover a branded GLP-1, who want a video visit with a prescriber and are happy to fill the prescription at their own pharmacy.
Who should look elsewhere
Cash buyers looking for an all-in monthly price, anyone who wants compounded semaglutide or tirzepatide, and residents of states it does not serve.
The evidence behind what MEDvidi prescribes
We grade the molecules, not the marketing. Here is what the human data actually shows for each thing on their menu.
- Zepbound vs Wegovy: what the trials actually show
Zepbound (tirzepatide) leads on weight loss in the one head-to-head trial; Wegovy (semaglutide) has the cardiovascular-outcomes approval. An honest comparison.
- GLP-1 cost and insurance coverage: what drives the price, and what's actually covered
List price, net price, and your price are three different numbers. Indication drives coverage, savings cards have fine print, and cost is itself a clinical variable.
- How to get Wegovy in 2026: the four legitimate routes
Wegovy is the semaglutide approved for weight management, so you don't need diabetes; you need a BMI of 30+ (or 27+ with a comorbidity) and a route. Here are the four: your doctor plus insurance, NovoCare self-pay, telehealth, and the compounding question.
