GHRP-6 vs Ipamorelin
Same receptor, opposite design intent. GHRP-6 is the blunt first-generation tool whose hallmark is hunger; ipamorelin was engineered to release GH with minimal spillover.
GHRP-6
Pulses GH short-term, but its most reliable real-world effect is a surge in appetite; no long-term human outcomes and not approved.

Raises GH, but failed its one rigorous human efficacy RCT; no body-composition outcome data.

Our verdict
GHRP-6 does raise growth hormone in humans across intravenous, subcutaneous and oral routes, but it also raises ACTH and cortisol, and its most reliable real-world effect is a strong, dose-dependent increase in appetite. Ipamorelin was characterized as the first selective GH secretagogue, with little effect on cortisol or prolactin, yet when it was tested in a proper randomized trial for postoperative recovery of bowel function it missed its primary endpoint. Both are research-only with no long-term human outcome data for the uses they are marketed for, and neither has been compared against the other in a trial. The cytoprotective findings often cited for GHRP-6 are rodent work, not human outcomes.
GHRP-6 fits if
GHRP-6 is the relevant molecule if the question is ghrelin-like appetite biology or the older cross-route GH-stimulation literature.
Ipamorelin fits if
Ipamorelin is the closer match for a reader who cares specifically about a clean GH signal without the appetite and cortisol spillover.
